6th Lorenz Kramer Memorial Lecture
Building better Oscillators using Nonlinear Dynamics and Pattern Formation
Prof. Dr. Michael C. Cross (California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, USA)
October 11, 2011
As modern technology pushed to smaller and smaller scales, the richness of nonlinear dynamics studied in the physics community becomes increasingly important. I will present examples of nonlinear dynamics in nanomechanical systems, and efforts to exploit these phenomena in scientific and technological applications such as precision clocks and single molecule sensors.
